Electronic Test Engineer Technician

Spectral Response, LLC is one of the Southeast's leading Electronic Manufacturing Services providers.  We have a 22 year record of providing complex assembly solutions to a technically varied group of customers.


 


Our Test Engineering group has an immediate opportunity for an experienced individual to engineer new product test solutions and provide support for manufacturing.


 


Specific duties will involve:


 



  • Designing, developing, testing and maintaining test systems, data acquisition and diagnosis tools to support the product development effort

  • Developing and modifying existing test procedures conforming to company and customer standards

  • Identifying and trouble-shooting circuits, working with SMT components

  • Interpreting schematics, Bill of Materials, Circuit and Assembly CAD diagrams

  • Building electronic breadboards

  • Provide onging production support for Failure Analysis and Additional Test Coverage

  • Operating production test equipment such as device programmers, functional testers and In-circuit testers to verify and develop test processes

  • Operting other laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators and manual or computer controlled test devices in order to conduct experiments and tests

  • Supporting customer supplied test processes as needed by production

 


Qualifications and previous experience should include:


 



  • Minimum two years technical/electronics training - must be able to interpret schematics, identify and trouble-shoot circuits

  • Minimum 5 years experience in hardware test engineering and production support; including operating test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, and manual or computer controlled test devices - experience with RF products is a big plus

  • Proficiency conducting experiments, performing analog and digital circuit tests and troubleshooting to the component level.

  • Working programming skills in a high level language (C, Visual Basic, Labview) in a test environment

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with ability to manage and execute projects with minimal supervision

  • Knowledge of manufacturing test equipment processes and test documentation preparation with ability to interact with customers on technical issues

  • Familiar with PCs and associated standard MS Office applications (Word, Excel)

 


The following experience will be considered a plus:



  • Experience in electronic circuit prototyping highly desirable

  • Proficiency using mechanical fabrication tools

  • Electrical and Mechanical CAD skills

  • Experience with Embedded Microprocessors

  • Working knowledge of LabView Test Software, Memory Devices (FLASH, FPGA) and JTAG
