Description

Initial training will be held in West Palm Beach, Florida. Ultimately, this position is located on Andros Island, Bahamas.
Responsible for operating, troubleshooting, repairing and testing a variety of complex Communication Systems installed throughout the Site One and Downrange Sites located on ASD. Perform detailed testing procedures to diagnose causes of equipment malfunction for the AUTEC Project.
Essential Job Functions
  • Disassemble components and trace circuit continuity through states of equipment.
  • Repair circuit wiring and replace faulty major components and individual parts.
  • Test-operate repaired equipment with common and specialized hand tools, measuring instruments and testing devices.
  • Perform authorized modification, final testing and maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualification
Basic Qualifications
  • AS/AA in Electronic Technician or equivalent military/vocational training in advance electronics.
  • Eight (8) years related experience working in Electronic environment.
  • Mobility on a military vessel to perform job tasks.
  • Experience with RF(HF, VHF, UHF), Satellite and Microwave theory.
  • Ability to perform preventive and corrective equipment maintenance.
  • Valid Drivers License and passport will be required.
Must meet eligibility required to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance.

Other Qualifications
  • Additions as needed including environmental and physical concerns.
  • Lift/carry up to 45 pounds of equipment.
  • Reach above the shoulders and climb using legs and arms to perform job tasks on a moving vessel.
  • Vision required corrected to 20/20 and distinguished basic colors to perform technical tasks.
  • Task oriented and detailed focused to work in isolated work stations.
  • Responsible team player to carry assigned workload.
  • Works well independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.
