Electronics Technician II/ATC Communications Tech
Description:
Lockheed Martin Information Technology-Professional Services is looking for an Electronics Technician II/ATC Communications Tech, to maintain air traffic control radio systems at Al Asad, Iraq. Typical duties include: Performing preventive maintenance on ATC radio systems and related equipment; Inspecting equipment at specified intervals; replacing defective parts; performing operational checks; maintaining inspection and maintenance records; and Independently verify operational condition of Control Tower Facilities and integrated system to be within prescribed parameters IAW supporting Technical Orders/Manuals or directives.
Specific electronic equipment supported includes CM-200 Ground to Air Radio, ETVS (BS2) Enhanced Terminal Voice Switch, PL 2000 DT, and AN/TPN-19 radio equipment (GRC-171 and GRC 211), GRR-23/24, GRT 21/22, PRC-117, RT-1319, TRC-176, URC-200, and Liberty Star radios.
Requirements: US citizen with a Department of Defense security clearance (selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information). This position requires a minimum of six (6) years of "hands on" work experience in support of installations, repair, troubleshooting or maintenance of electronic systems or equipment; may involve training and assisting lower level technicians. Must have the technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems, and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of electronic systems or equipment. Candidates shall also have a minimum of three (3) years experience performing preventive maintenance on ground radio communications systems and related equipment, inspecting equipment at specified intervals determining operational status, replacing defective components, and performing operational checks.
Education: Associates degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology OR Completion of formal resident trade school or apprentice program in electronics; OR Completion of at least three U.S. Military schools in electronic systems or Electronic equipment and Grade E-6 or equivalent.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have an active Secret clearance. Candidates shall also have a minimum of three (3) years experience performing preventive maintenance on ground radio communications systems and related equipment, inspecting equipment at specified intervals determining operational status, replacing defective components, and performing operational checks.
