Basic Qualifications

5 – 10 years

• Bachelors degree

• 7+ years embedded software development experience

• 4+ years of software design and architecture experience

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:

 Lead a small team of engineers to design and develop advanced software solutions for our mobile computing products.  Responsibilities would include working with customers to define requirements, developing a robust software architecture, creating a schedule, and ultimately delivering a best-in-class solution to meet the customer’s needs.  Additional responsibilities would include mentoring junior engineers, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and performing hands-on development and debug activities.

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

 Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering

• Fluency in C/C++ programming

• Smartphone Development experience  (Windows Mobile, Android, Linux)

• Image Processing and analysis experience a plus

• Good communications skills

• Excellent Leadership skills

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:

This person will work with the Decode Core Competency team and Mobile Computing to provide new features and improvements to existing features in our image processing and barcode decode software. The candidate must have good software engineering practice with embedded systems, image processing and analysis. The candidate must also be able to translate high level product description or system goals into actionable plans.

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering

• Fluency in C/C++ programming

• Camera/Image Processing skills/experience

Senior Software Engineer

Education Required        Bachelors / Degree

Experience Required      3 - 5

Basic Qualifications:       

4+ years embedded software experience

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:

Software engineer to design and develop device drivers and system software on various mobile computing products, including ruggedized PDAs, enterprise smartphones, etc.

Specific Knowledge/Skills

Bachelors Degree (in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar)

• 2+ years of software design or architecture experience

• Fluency in C/C++ programming

• Smartphone Development experience (Windows Mobile, Android, Linux)

• Experience developing multimedia solutions a plus

Team Voice Lead Integrator

Department Description               Development of hand held mobile computers

 Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations

Work closely with the Voice Team to ensure the requirements are being met from the platform and product point of view. Work closely with the platform team and product teams to ensure proper integration and functionality is met on the products.

Specific Knowledge/Skills

·         Experience with VOIP or VOWLAN preferred

·         Embedded System experience

·         Real Time Operating Experience including Windows CE, Windows Mobile, Linux, Android.

Software Engineering Lead        

Education Required        Bachelors / Degree

Experience Required      5 - 10

Basic Qualifications          - Bachelors  Degree

- 8+ years of engineering experience including embedded software development and Real time operating systems (RTOS)

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations

Lead small teams of engineers to conceive, develop and support mobile computing PDAs running Windows Embedded Operating Systems. Candidate would be responsible to estimate scope of effort, generate/maintain schedules, mentor/lead other engineers on their team, coordinate activities with cross-functional teams, and perform hands-on development and debug activities.

Specific Knowledge/Skills

·         Masters degree preferred

·         Global travel required

·         3+ years leading small software engineering teams (2 or more people).

·         4+ years experience in Embedded Software Engineering.

·         10+ years experience in Software Engineering (includes embedded).

·         3+ years programming experience with embedded operating system(s).

·         Knowledge of embedded ARM or Intel microprocessors.

·         Fluency in C programming.

·         Experience writing Windows or CE Device Drivers is a plus.

·         Experience writing Radio Drivers is a plus.
