Company Brief

Our Client is a privately held company in the Oil and Gas Industry who designs, tests and manufactures highly complex electro-mechanical products and specialty instruments used for taking various real-time measurements in oil wells (i.e., “logging tools”) which must survive extreme temperatures and extreme pressures.  The client is a strong, stable, and growing company.


The staff consists of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers as well as, technicians and assemblers.  The development projects are very challenging technically and offer the opportunity to use state-of-the-art technology in ways to bring the seemingly impossible to reality.  We are looking for individuals who thrive by meeting challenges, can wear multiple hats, and seek opportunities to be recognized for their contributions.


Job Description

Our Client is looking to fill an Embedded Software Engineer position at their Houston facility.  The individual must have a strong backgroung with Embedded Real Time Operating Systems, solid profiency with Embedded C & Assembly, the abilty to wear multiple hats, and experience or exposure to Sytems level.  In addition, you will also:

*Generate testing programs using LabView
*Have some basic knowledge of electronic circuits and can understand schematic diagrams
*Software programs must be well organized and documented



Qualification

Successful candidates for this position have:

* MUST have experience in the development of Real-Time Software for Microprocessors and Digital Signal Processors (DSP) [Analog Devices DSP experience preferred]

* 5+ years experience in an engineering / design environment.

* Proficient with Embedded C and Assembly

* Systems level software experience or exposure

* Bachelor's degress in Engineering, Computer Science or related field is a minimum.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
