Seven45 has an immediate need for an Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer!! 


 


Seven45 Studios, located in the heart of Boston's Back Bay, is a fast-growing company creating console and handheld music video games for players of all ages.  Under minimum Supervision, the person in this role will plan, perform research and design and develop new products.  In addition, this person will perform maintenance and enhancement of existing products.


Responsibilities:


 


• Performs embedded software (firmware) development for new products


• Works with operations/ Purchasing and engineering personnel to create prototypes for evaluation and testing.


• Develops PC application software for configuring and calibrating final product.


• Works with hardware engineers to specify components and system architecture for new products.


• Contributes as a strong team player using technical and communication skills in global product development teams consisting of cross-functional team members.


• Provides advice and analysis as a participant in product development teams.


 • Proceeds on own initiative for most phases of work and only requires general direction for new activities.


• Communicates with good interpersonal skills, in a professional manner with peers, associates in other departments, suppliers and customers


• Works diligently on assigned projects and tasks to complete on time within budget


Minimum Qualifications:


• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science


• 5-7 years relevant design experience required.


• Firmware development: Selection and design with microprocessors, microcontrollers, DSPs and other digital circuit devices.


• Experience with USB, SPI or other wired interconnect standards


• Knowledge of digital audio standards, formats, and processing algorithms


• Application development for Windows XP. Experience with C/C++.


• Experience with MIDI is a plus


• Experience with Atmel AVR toolset is a plus


• Experience with C#/.Net is a plus.


•Experience with Bluetooth, ZigBee or other wireless protocols a plus
