As the Nurse Manager you will work in collaboration with the Nursing Director acting as a vital link between the mission and vision of this incredible healthcare system and the delivery of safe patient and family centered care that is compassionate, evidence-based, and provides the highest quality of care. Reporting through the Nurse Director, this role requires collaboration with staff physicians, directors, professional colleagues and occasionally senior administration, to meet the diverse needs and continually changing challenges of the healthcare environment. The Nurse Manager must be creative, autonomous, future-orients, risk-taking entrepreneur who applies expertise, critical thinking and effective leadership to ensure that quality care is provided through satisfied and inspired professionals on a daily basis


 


Requirements:


 



  • Level 1 trauma experience
  • BSN
  • Ideal candidate will have at least (3) three plus years Emergency Department management experience preferred
  • (5) Five years Emergency Department clinically focused experience required

 



MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:



1. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine


2. Graduate of an accredited program for nursing. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred


3. Interpersonal and management skills in order to deal with complex management problems. Communicates effectively with unit and administrative personnel, physicians and a variety of other hospital staff and persons within the community


4. Advanced knowledge and expertise in providing care in order to oversee others and serve as effective resources at a level normally acquired through two or three years of progressive experience


5. High level of critical thinking and analytical skills to make management decisions at unit level and make recommendations for consideration on departmental issues


Ability to integrate the knowledge of teaching principles and counseling techniques in order to direct the growth of the unit staff

7. High level of organizational skills, effective time management and delegation strategies that include the ability to rapidly prioritize and adjust work flow according to changing unit needs
