The Human Resources Leadership Program (HRLP) develops future Nielsen leaders who will position Nielsen for growth. Our next program begins July 2010 with assignments in:
- New York, NY
- Chicago, IL
- Cincinnati, OH
- Tampa, FL
You will assume roles of increasing responsibility as you participate in exciting development experiences including:
Rotational Assignments - The HRLP rotational assignments provide on-the-job learning and help to develop a wide breadth of knowledge. Through four, six month rotational assignments, participants gain invaluable practical work experience that can span across different geographical areas and business segments. Assignments can include exposure to many aspects of Human Resources including: organization design, leadership development, training, performance management, compensation and benefits design, staffing and recruiting, and HR information systems and operations.
Training & Development - You will receive intensive, focused training during the program in the following areas: Leadership, Human Resources, Professional Development
Mentoring & Networking - You will be paired with an experienced mentor who will provide direction with assignments, career planning and post-program placement. They will provide ongoing feedback with structured development goals to help you build your skills. You will have a variety of opportunities to network with senior leaders and colleagues during training sessions, small group discussions and town hall meetings. The network associates are able to build during this time is often cited as a top benefit.

Candidate Criteria:
- Graduation within the last two years with a Bachelors or Masters degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or Business
- Strong record of academic achievement (minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA)
- Leadership role in collegiate extracurricular activities
- Capacity and motivation for hard work
- Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Strong PC skills
- Strong desire to enter and develop within the marketing information and media industries
- Enthusiasm and flexibility to pursue a challenging career in various locations; willingness and ability to travel extensively
- Willingness to commit to multi-year career with Nielsen after completion of program
- Permanent work authorization in the U.S.
