Employee Benefits Administration Leader
For more than 40 years Mercer Administration has provided our corporate clients with a wide variety of employee benefits administrative services. Currently we support more than 12,000 companies, representing almost 500,000 employees and dependents. Operating as an extension of our clients' Human Resources departments, we assist with cost effective administrative solutions including insurance claims processing, billing and eligibility administration and customer service.
The Mercer Health & Benefits Administration Leader will provide executive leadership for Mercer Administration by achieving profitable revenue growth in the individual solutions and the business as a whole, client/consultant satisfaction, and introducing new solutions to the middle market. The Mercer Health & Benefits Administration Leader position is based in Iowa City, Iowa and will be responsible for:
- Developing budgets, leading function managers, managing contracts with Third Party Vendors, leading implementation of Mercer initiatives, and collaborating with Finance, HR, Market Leaders, and Administration Solution Consultants
- Developing and executing strategies to streamline and improve Operations resulting in greater client satisfaction, efficiencies, lower delivery costs and greater profitability
- Implementing six sigma (or comparable) processes across all functions for continuous process improvement
- Leading, managing, and coordinating all management talent, resources responsible for delivering client services in all solutions, and support functions within Mercer Administration
- Working with IT leaders to identify technology improvements, working with Mercer Administration Solutions Consultants to enhance the service delivery models, and identifying/implementing functions suitable for offshoring
- BS/BA required with MBA desirable
- Minimum 15 years' related employee benefits and/or HR outsourcing operations industry experience with 5-7 years in an executive leadership role
- Proven track record of leadership and driving operational excellence
- Expertise with system functionality supporting multiple HR/Benefits operations, process centralization and standardization and offshoring initiatives
- Strong executive networking, business case development, financial management and client presentation skills
- Ability to provide leadership/influence in a matrixed-managed environment, across multiple and diverse business and systems groups
- Six Sigma Certification, Human Resource Management training preferred
- Ability to travel 10-20%
