MVS Inc. is seeking a DC barred employment/labor attorney to work on a contract basis. Applications are due by Monday, October 26, 9pm.
The attorney will be contracted to work on behalf of MVS Inc. to assist a DC Government Agency in handling personnel complaints that require adjudication. The attorney will assist in the Agency’s consideration of employment discrimination complaints, adverse personnel actions, labor relations matters, and other personnel matters and represent the Agency before District or Federal Government administrative tribunals (e.g., D.C. Office of Human Rights, D.C. Office of Employee Appeals, D.C. Public Employee relations Board and the EEOC).
Detailed Job Description
Ø Responsible for all aspects of adjudicating all personnel complaints filed with District Government tribunals
Ø Review and advise management on the initial complaint
Ø Research all applicable personnel procedures and all applicable laws (D.C. Merit Personnel Act), applicable provisions of the District of Columbia Code, U.S. Code
Ø File responsive pleadings
Ø Represent the Agency before the District and Federal Government Agencies
Qualifications
Ø Must be DC Barred
Ø Must have prior experience in employment law
Ø Trial/Administrative law litigation experience a plus
Ø 2+ years of experience
