Community Family Life Services (CFLS) works to achieve its goals through a web of interconnected services in three major areas: Housing Services; Supportive Services; and Youth Development & Advocacy. Housing Services provides service-enriched transitional and permanent housing for families at several locations throughout Washington, DC. Specialized programs focus on persons living with HIV/AIDS, homeless families, families seeking reunification, and people with a dual diagnosis of mental illness and addiction, among others. The Emergency Community Services Program provides emergency food and clothing assistance; regularly delivered food and “telephone buddies” to homebound elderly citizens. Employment & Job Training staff provides employment counseling, assistance in finding jobs, resume writing, interviewing, and job placement. We also offer referrals to training programs and other educational opportunities. CFLS’ Youth Development & Advocacy department provides after-school tutoring and advocacy as well as a summer camp for middle school aged children.
