BA/BS in a Social Service preferred, plus knowledge and experience working with young adults with emotional and behavioral difficulties. Must be able to work effectively with community vocational programs, assess educational and vocational needs, and develop and implement effective skill development and vocational plans. Must have skills and competence to establish supportive trusting relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illness and respect for clients’ rights and preferences. Knowledge in job training and supported employment. Valid driver's license and reliable automobile required. Employment Specialist certification or certifiable. (Certification training will be provided)
PROGRAM INFORMATION
The Employment Specialist is a member of a multi-disciplined team providing flexible services to individuals with mental health challenges living in the Worcester community. It is flexible in both the types and intensity of the services offered, based on the individuals skills and service needs. All individuals are referred by the Department of Mental Health.
