We are currently seeking a Commissioning Agent with the skills, credentials and experience to conduct energy audits as well support our clients with broader building system commissioning services. The position may be based out of the Seattle or Portland office and requires 25% national travel for the 18 months (2 weeks away, 6 weeks in office) and subsequent intermittent travel in NW region.
This is an ideal position for someone looking for a ‘hands on’ field role. This individual will collect the energy consumption data at the client site and will document, analyze, and recommend changes. This individual will also act as a resource to other Commissioning Agents in the region on projects involving energy management.
In addition to the Energy role, this individual will be assigned general commissioning projects. Acting as an Owner Representative, you will ensure that systems are designed, installed, functionally tested and capable of being operated and maintained according to the owner’s operational needs.
Qualified candidates must have at least 10 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC systems, and controls disciplines in buildings, ships, or submarines. Must have demonstrated ability to conduct energy audits, and troubleshoot HVAC, TAB, & BMS Controls. Must have excellent written communication and report writing skills and a solid understanding of operational requirements, safety requirements, code inspections, and maintenance considerations. Design experience is a plus but only those with field experience will be considered. A Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related field is preferred. The ideal candidate will be a registered PE and/or have obtained LEED AP or CEM.
Candidates must have demonstrated success with building client relationships and managing their client projects technically and financially to contract budget. Must have computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to present issues and solutions to executive level clients, mechanical contractors and designers is required. This is a full-time salaried/benefited position. Travel and appropriate expenses are reimbursed.
