Our Client Services group in Northern California has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Engagement or Project Manager, a leader with significant subject matter expertise in the areas of lean manufacturing, distribution, supply chain and operations. The Engagement Manager will be responsible for the development, planning and implementation of many key projects, oftentimes on multiple simultaneous projects. Travel requirements are generally less than 20%.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for an experienced Engagement/Project Manager with a proven track record. This individual must have very strong communication skills, as this person will interact frequently with senior management from the client side, as well as the management team within Manex. Responsibilities will include:
1. Assessing client and project needs and coordinating with sales team during sales cycle, including the development and presentation of proposals and reports
2. Developing highly detailed work plans for all projects, including cost models and utilization forecasts
3. Interacting with clients, including senior management and business line owners
4. Re-assessing work plans and budgets at key intervals; communicating updates to internal team(s)
5. Managing consultants and third-party vendors, as well as resources provided by client
6. Managing multiple engagements simultaneously
7. Maximizing client satisfaction and maintaining relationship with client, during and after project close
8. Following up with previous clients (primarily for survey purposes)
9. Identifying on-going or additional needs at client site
Desirable Skills:
1. Project management, project planning and budgeting (up to 10 person engagements)
2. Lean Principles (TPS, 5S, Visual Factory, TPM, Kanban, Kaizen, SMED)
3. Hoshin Kanri/Strategic Planning/Visioning Sessions
4. Project scoping
5. Very effective presentation skills, including C-level and board level presentations
6. Personnel management
7. Program and change management
8. Certification and/or experience in Six Sigma and Quality Certification
Desirable Experience:
1. 4 year technical or business degree. Advanced degree highly preferred.
2. 6+ years of consulting or 8+ years of industry experience within manufacturing, distribution and /or supply chain implementing Toyota Production System and/or Lean Manufacturing
3. Experience with a premier consulting firm in a manufacturing or supply chain practice highly preferred
4. Minimum of 3 years leading and managing engagements
5. Highly skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and the use of a personal computer
6. Demonstrated success in understanding and managing project profitability
7. Bilingual a plus
