We are currently recruiting for an Engineer in our Hillsboro Fiserv office. This position will be responsible for the following:

 

Job Description

A Hillsboro Hosting System Engineer serves in dual role of Sustaining Engineering and traditional project based Engineering work.  Areas of responsibility include server and application installation, maintenance, monitoring, change management, and initial Banking Application escalation support for multiple distinct Windows 2000/2003/2008 domains in a Hosted Data Center for production Internet Banking (IB) systems. This position is responsible for working with FET and project teams to define requirements and solutions to Banking Business Unit issues and the support the business throughout the entire customer life cycle.

Skills Required

Working knowledge and experience with implementation, and support of Microsoft Windows servers. Microsoft MCSE a plus.

Active Directory and IIS experience is required.

Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of issues inherent to Microsoft software including, but not limited to security, auditing and acquisition management; licensing and compliance; deployment and upgrading; features and functionality.

Project management experience, expert analysis and troubleshooting skills are required.

Change Management practices and procedures and excellent communication skills are essential.

Laser like focus on proactive planning and monitoring to prevent and minimize downtime.

Must be familiar with standards and trends in the industry in relation to Windows servers and related IT processes.

Requires strong analytical ability, strong judgment and managerial skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, IT management and staffs, and vendors.

Must be able to communicate at technical and business layers within the organization.

Must possess a high and strong level of technical ability and interpersonal communications in providing technical support at all levels.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to document policies and procedures, follow best change management practices and provide support at various levels, etc.

Establish and maintain a high level of client trust and confidence in the team’s knowledge of and concern for clients Internet Banking systems.

Has a positive and constructive sense of humor.

Can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.

Uses time effectively and efficiently.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours on-site at Hillsboro facility as required, which may include late nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability and willingness to be on-call 24/7 on a rotating basis.

High degree of customer service skills.

Skills Desired

SQL DBA experience is a plus.

CICSO CCNA, Compaq ASE, certifications a plus.

Hands-on experience with VMWare ESX server a plus

Hands-on experience with SAN solutions such as HP EVA 4400s or Dell Equilogic storage family solutions a plus

Working knowledge of Fiserv Banking products and services, financial software and hardware systems required as part of job function.  This experience may be learned on the job.

Education Required

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, desired but not required.

3-6 Years of Professional Work Experience in IT Sector Required.
