Scope of Responsibilities  

  Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, modifies and performs unit test of Ethernet Services Management software for Ethernet networking products.  This will initially include performing sustaining work, analyzing and developing fixes for issues found both by test and field personnel to be added into a future release, and will continue into a full developmental role.

Specific Responsibilities  

  •    Troubleshoots code for management software applications designed to manage analog and digital hardware and software operating systems or programs and troubleshoots code for application software developed to manage Ethernet based networking equipment.

  •    Typically programs in Java and BeanShell languages used for Network Management.

  •    Works with a team of software engineers supporting, designing and implementing Network Management applications to manage Ethernet based networking products.

  •    Also will work with Embedded and Network Management System engineers and hardware engineers to provide a cohesive end-to-end solution. Prepares documentation for design and use of the software as required.

  •    Able to plan project tasks and provide work estimates and schedules.

Normally receives minimal instruction on day-to-day work, general diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

Education / Experience  

•      Typically has BSEE/BSCS or equivalent experience.

•      2+ years of experience with Java or J2EE technologies and BeanShell, Ethernet protocols, Diagnostics, Application-level Integrated Development Environments, and TCP/IP networking protocols, preferably with a Network Management application.

•      Ideal candidate will have recent Network Management development background working with WebNms framework

•      Emphasis on Java programming technologies for Network Management applications, and high-degree of problem solving skills with experience in the development of web based application software, Java and/or J2EE technologies for network management.

•      Knowledge of Object Oriented programming using high-level languages like Java for network management.
