Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION
Coordinate process assessment, control, and continuous improvement in the manufacturing area as well as any related support systems assigned to you, with emphasis on operations management and structured problem solving. Drive KOS deployment in your area through training and participation in robust process improvement methods, process standardization, and the development of use of quality systems and tools.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Identify and coordinate quality and process improvement initiatives in your area to assure that product, processes, and systems are all being reviewed, assessed, and improved.
2.Actively coordinate and be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of KOS in your area.
3.Assist in developing, deploying, and standardizing divisional quality systems.
Organization Relationships:
1. Constant contact with manufacturing (hourly and/or supervision) personnel and production teams to assist in improvements, standardization, and training.
2. Frequent contact with product/process/design engineers to manage preventive actions, improve process/product capability, and integrate system improvements.
3. Frequent contact with area operating/lean systems personnel to standardize, administer, and improve systems.
4. Frequent contacts with Operations management personnel to monitor, communicate, and coordinate data-driven improvements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Associate college degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent training with a minimum of 10 years experience in Quality/Operating systems and statistical methods - or directly applicable work experience. Should possess solid team leadership, structured problem solving, presentation, technical systems, and interpersonal (negotiation, delegation, persuasion) skills. ASQ-certified in Quality Engineer and ISO Auditing is highly desirable.
Must perform process engineering tasks and technical assignments with a high degree of quality. Should look for opportunities to lead-by-example and implement truly preventive action. Must be someone who accepts, embraces, and drives change. Capable of improving quality systems and teaching structured problem-solving concepts.
