Engineering Manager

Provides leadership and coaching to the Engineering team and Tool & Die team.  Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; five years related leadership experience in diverse engineering roles supporting a modern manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Management experience in directing both daily operations and major project work.  Direct leadership roles in launching a major product start up and/or constructing a new manufacturing facility.  Background in heavy press and transfer tooling.  Knowledge of welding and robotics.

Experience with Just-in-Time layouts and material flows required to support small lot production and minimize indirect labor cost.  Quick die change, direct delivery of materials and cellular manufacturing areas of expertise.
