Job Description/Duties: 

  • Define problem assumptions, boundary conditions, and design requirements
  • Identifies required system and component level tests and experiments (DVP¿s)
  • Extract layout data and use skills in computer aided engineering and analysis to apply engineering theory to system designs
  • Mentor and lead lower classification Engineers and Designers in design guidance, project documentation, adherence to established drawing and performance standards
  • Leads project and design reviews
  • Coordinate as appropriate with suppliers, purchasing, manufacturing, and other engineering personnel to develop the information required to complete assigned engineering projects
  • Uses the appropriate quality tools including design requirement documents and design guidelines in developing designs
  • Gather data and analysis as well as lead in project planning and status reporting
  • Responsible for developing plans for all work within assigned project scope and leading the project to completion within the agreed estimates
  • Responsible for the project design integrity including supporting the project through production launch. This includes all Quality, Cost & Delivery (QCD) goals at the engineering level

 

Education and Experience Required:  

  • Education required is a 4 year Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering, or Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering Technology
  • 15 or more years of experience in design. Prefer vehicle experience. Proven ability to lead projects in this environment.
  • The purpose of the position is to, within the electrical system group, take the lead of multiple platforms, make initial design decisions, oversee design issues, manage through every activities including major/minor program changes, APCN, PCBL, Pyxis concerns, coordinate and perform a selected variety of functional engineering assignment. The accomplishment requires individual's proficiency and ability for independent judgment within areas of experience and the application of standard engineering principles, theories, concepts and techniques in more than one engineering field, while the result is the design and development of commercial truck. This position offers challenge of varied assignments to highly trained and experienced professional engineers who have demonstrated personal knowledge and ability through accomplishments on previous assignment.
  • At least 8 years experience in engineering, design or product development.
  • Positive attitude, Ethics and International Values which support our company's values and a healthy, high performance culture.
  • At least 5 years experience in electrical system engineering, design or product development.
  • At least 3 years experience in project management
  • Ability to travel at least 10%
  • Familiar with our companies truck vehicle electrical system design
  • Thoroughly understands the systems engineering approach
