
Duties and Responsibilities: Position Requirements: Minimum 7+ years experience in Management, Program Management, Operations in the Consumer Electronics, or Electronics Manufacturing industry. Bachelors degree or equivalent experience preferred. MBA a plus. PMP certification or equivalent experience preferred. MS Project or equivalent Project Management/Scheduling SW strongly preferred. MS Office required. (Excel,Word, Powerpoint) Must be comfortable presenting and communicating to Executive staff and have the ability to work in a cross functional environment. Some travel may be required. Position must be physically onsite in order to work with Engineering and Management team.
1. Process
The Project/Program Manager is the product development process owner. Their main task is to keep track of the project boundaries of Cost, Schedule, Resources, Features.
The PM will serve as the facilitator for the team to help organize and articulate the project goals as contributed by all team members.
The PM is not necessarily the decision maker, but becomes the tool for management to try to keep the project on time and within budget.
Will be responsible for maintaining an updated and current schedule (including critical path), current tasks/action items, an current task/action item owners. Moreover, the PM ideally should have at his/her disposal the most current BOM and product pricing goals, and up to date program spending against plan.
The Project/Program Manager facilitates and helps drive the decision making process in order to keep the project moving forward. This includes highlighting to management when project boundaries are not met.
2. Resource planning, tracking, and highlighting resource gaps:
The PM will be responsible for tracking resources allocated to the project throughout the development process. The PM does not necessarily have responsibilities to allocate, secure or manage these resources, however resource gaps will be highlighted to the management team when it is critical to the program's success.
