The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision and management of day to day engineering issues with production and fabrication. This position begins in a supervisory role and will lead to a management position that oversees hiring, firing, compensation and reviews for various engineering direct reports.
The successful candidate will ultimately participate with the management team in establishing departmental strategy, goals and planning. This position requires a “hands on” individual that possesses personal discipline, accountability and coaching skills. The ability to work effectively under the pressure of schedules and produce accurate results is mandatory. Qualified experience in reading and comprehending drawings, instruction sheets, specification sheets and other related materials is expected.
The right candidate will have a minimum of 6 years in related HID and fluorescent lighting background and 1-2 years in a management position with digital (LED) exposure a plus. The successful candidate will possess a degree in engineering; mechanical or electrical preferred. A working understanding of UL standards and how they apply to specific fixtures, codes and product types will greatly benefit the successful candidate.
Further to the above, this position interacts closely with sales/marketing, product development and operations teams on a regular basis.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Resolve day to day engineering issues with Production and Fabrication.
- Resolve issues with planning and oversee BOM set up for MODS.
- Oversee submittal requests.
- Oversee ECR process as they pertain to engineering.
- Working with marketing to resolve catalog, web and spec sheet issues.
