Primary Duties and Essential functions: (include, but not limited to)

1.      Under general supervision, performs complex technical tasks to assist engineers with electronic systems.

2.      Conducts engineering tests and detailed experimental testing, solving complicated mechanical or electronics problems involved in the operation of the product.

3.      Assists in general laboratory work.

4.      Assists engineers with fabricating and assembling electronics subassemblies for prototype models from schematics, rough sketches, and verbal instructions.

5.      Performs calibration checks on electronic instruments.

6.      May completely troubleshoot an electronics system to determine root cause and remedy for malfunctions.

7.      May provide work leadership to lower level technicians.

 

Secondary Duties and Essential functions: (include, but not limited to)

1.      Support Advanced Systems Lab with cell and circuit evaluations and analysis, ancillary equipment calibration, setup, operation and maintenance as directed.

2.      Maintain knowledge of existing Micro Power products and new technology.

3.      Support ISO 9001 / 2000, and FDA requirements.

4.      Organization and general housekeeping in the Engineering Lab.

           

Educational and Skill Requirements:

1.      AS Electronics Engineering (or related) or equivalent experience (typically two years technical training and at least five years related experience)

2.      This position is distinguished by its technical complexity and diversity.

3.      Requires ability to use practical electronic theory, basic machine tools, and work from schematics and rough sketches.

4.      IPC experience in soldering and rework of fine pitch SMT components.

5.      Thorough knowledge of problem solving and root cause analysis.

6.      Demonstrated prior experience in system trouble shooting and failure analysis methodologies.

7.    Strong working knowledge of high power analog and digital electronics and familiarity with batteries and battery systems.

8.      Excellent organization and communication skills.

9.      Self directed and motivated, and the ability to work on several projects concurrently.


Physical
Requirements:

1.      Must be able to sit for long periods of time at a computer workstation

2.      Must be able to lift 20 lbs

3.      Minimal travel required

1.      Personal computer

2.      Telephone System

3.      Test equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, digital power supplies, electronic loads, data acquisition, calipers, etc.

4.      Fax machine

 

Work Schedule:

1.      Generally 8am - 5pm, Monday through Friday, with additional time as needed.

2.      Less than 1% unplanned absenteeism is expected.
