Job Overview:


ATMI is seeking an Engineering Technician to join the Analytical Solutions team at our Danbury, CT Research & Development center. As part of our interdependent team, this individual will be responsible for Scanning Electron & Atomic Force Microscopy (SEM & AFM) in support of Research, Development and Applications Engineering projects. The ideal candidate will enable higher efficiency in terms of both throughput and quality by teaming with internal partners to understand requirements, and through proper upkeep of instrumentation. This individual will also help improve sample preparation capabilities, and will coordinate maintenance and calibration activities for the group. The individual will provide essential support for leading edge research and products in a growing high-tech company where individual and team success are recognized and rewarded..



Primary Responsibilities:


  • Prepare semiconductor wafer samples for Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)
  • Perform high-quality SEM/AFM imaging measurements
  • Troubleshoot and maintain analytical equipment
  • Cooperate with team members to achieve team cycle time, on-time delivery and customer satisfaction/quality metrics
  • Communicate results of analysis and report testing/sample related issues to internal partners
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers for tool support, maintenance and calibration
  • Proactively manage personal/lab area safety and cleanliness
  • Make recommendations to continuously improve sample preparation and characterization processes.




    Abilities:


  • 3-5 years Microscopy and/or semiconductor experience
  • Associate?s degree or higher in Science/Engineering
  • Hands on experience with SEM and AFM instruments
  • Organized with significant attention to details.
