Engineering Technician

About the Job

SUMMARY

Evaluate and optimize fiber optic and fiber optic gyro components at various stages of the development process.  Assist the Engineering team with the development of new products.   Test components at various stages of development and production process.  Compile test data and report trends.   Maintain accurate records of experiments. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

·         Assist in the development of module and product design verification/validation test plans as needed to ensure quality products, and carry out verification and validation test plans.

 

·         Assist in the development of new products and product enhancements for improved performance and cost effectiveness.

 

·         Work as part of professional engineering and cross functional teams to complete integration, testing, and product release.

 

·         Document all circuit and system designs, specifications and test plans.

·         Prepare and conduct experiments; collect data; calculate or record results; and help engineers or scientists in other ways, such as making prototype versions of newly designed equipment.  Prepare graphs or charts of data for analysis.

·         Operate data acquisition systems, measure performance, reliability, or relevant characteristics. 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

·    Associates Degree in Electronics or related science and 3-5 years experience or an equivalent level of skills and experience

·    Experience with Spectrum Analyzer, materials/mechanical testing a plus.

·    Experience and familiarity with general test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators and ATE measurement equipment.  Versatile Lab experience, well rounded in research, strong in electronics.

·    Individual must be detail oriented and exhibit excellent interpersonal skills: verbal and written communication.

·    Familiarity with CAD (SolidWorks).

·    Working knowledge of MS Office Package

·    Must be a Green Card Holder or U.S. Citizen
