Engineering Technician Part Time

 International Rectifier Rhode Island Design Center designs high-performance power management ICs for low-voltage high-current voltage regulators (VR) in computing and networking applications.  The North Kingstown, RI design center is looking for a part time entry level technician to assist engineering staff and technicians. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable hands on experience while learning from industry leaders.   This position will not exceed 20 hours per week, and will have flexible hours.  Schedules can be adjusted to accommodate student and facility needs.


This position will involve:


1. Testing and characterization of new ICs;


2. Rework, repair and test standard demo boards and customer design boards;


3. Prepare assembly kit for demo board build;


4. Maintain component inventory;


5. Lab cleaning and general maintenance


 


1. Good knowledge of passive and active components and simple analog/digital circuits.


2. Experience in using lab equipments including DMM, Oscilloscope, Function Generator and Network Analyzer.


3. Experience in soldering SMT components.


4. Good computing skill in using Microsoft Office programs to generate test report.


5. Familiar with Schematic Capture and PCB layout software is a plus


6. Self-learning, self-disciplined and good team player.
