JMWA is looking for an Engineering Tech V (Construction) for our client site in Arkansas!

Description:

• Provide daily inspection and project management services for Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (SRM) and MILCON projects such as: labs, airfield runways, utility systems, base utility plants, aircraft maintenance shops/hangars, recreation facilities, and administrative offices. Projects may include highly complex, high dollar MILCON construction including Design Build construction projects.
• Perform design reviews, update as-built drawings, develop cost estimates for change orders, develop short statements of work and draft sketches to support change orders and contract modifications. Assist client in the preparation and review of as-built drawings at the end of construction.
• Monitor contractor's performance for compliance with contract terms and conditions and review plans and specifications and ensure compliance with all contract documents.
• Communicate problems encountered to client and propose recommendations to resolve
• Track and document contractor compliance with work schedules, methods, plans, and specifications. Provide findings and recommendations to the client.
• Coordinate pre-final and final inspections, and assist in punch list development.
• Assist in project coordination between the various entities involved.
• Process submittals documents and other contract documentation.
• Review "Requests for Information" from the Contractor and coordinate client responses.
• Advise client on potential engineering issues associated with the projects, and prepare documentation.
• Maintain contractual and financial documentation, specifications, cost estimates, field notes, and inspection records.
• Assist in the validation of contractor invoices, forward to COTR for certification and update project payment records.
• Provide limited Technical Consultation services.
• Attend contract bid openings, pre-construction conferences, and fire and safety conferences to track needed information and highlight technical portions of specifications and plans.
• Assist engineers in the formulation of plans and specifications.
• Assist client with technical recommendations and documentation.

Required:

• An Engineering degree is desired.
• A minimum of 5 years practical experience in construction oversight.
• Broad knowledge of engineering, construction and associated requirements.
• Significant experience in managing DoD MILCON construction and Air National Guard Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (SRM) projects is highly desired.
• Must be able to operate a computer and prepare documentation using Microsoft Word processing and AutoCAD.
