JMWA is looking for an Engineering Tech (construction) for our client site in Wisconsin!

Provide construction oversight support to include inspection and construction management services.

Description:

• Provide daily inspection and project management services for Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (SRM) and MILCON projects at various client locations state wide.
• Perform design reviews, update as-built drawings, develop cost estimates for change orders, develop short statements of work and draft sketches to support change orders and contract modifications for assigned projects.
• Monitor contractor’s performance for compliance with contract terms and conditions.
• Review plans and specifications and ensure that contractors are in compliance with all contract documents. Provide findings to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) or the Facility Designs and Projects Manager.
• Complete Construction Inspection Record and project closeout documents.
• Coordinate pre-final and final inspections, and assist in punch lists development.
• Prepare, review, and evaluate construction documentations, drawings, and specifications.
• Assist in project coordination between the User Groups, outside agencies and the client.
• Maintain and manage project schedules with start dates, milestones and completion dates.
• Maintain contact information for points of contacts that are relative to the project.
• Attend project management meetings and brief on project status.
• Maintain accurate project folders with appropriate support documentation.
• Process submittal documents and other contract documentation.
• Review "Requests for Information" from the Contractor and prepare responses.
• Advise Facility Designs and Projects Manager and COR on engineering issues associated with the projects, and prepares documentation as needed.
• Maintain contractual and financial documentation, specifications, cost estimates, field notes, and inspection records.
• Assist in the validation of contractor invoices and forward to COR for certification.
• Update project payment records.

Required:

• A minimum of 5 years practical experience in construction oversight and drafting with AutoCAD.
• Broad knowledge of engineering, construction and the requirements associated with construction projects.
• Significant experience in managing DoD MILCON construction and Air National Guard Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (SRM) projects is highly desired.
• An Engineering degree is desired.
• Must be able to operate a computer and prepare documentation using Microsoft Word processing and AutoCAD.
