An associates degree in a technical discipline and at least 8 - 10 years work experience or 10 - 12 years of practical work experience. Requires the thorough knowledge of advanced engineering principles and practices to develop appropriate design outputs. An in-depth knowledge of the conventional technology in the specialized field, computer applications, Industry Codes and Standards, design control, and Department of Energy requirements is required. Good organizational and communication skills are necessary. Requires the ability to use computers to prepare computer aided design drawings. Continued training is required for new technology developments in related fields. Knowledge of project cost/schedule controls is required.
