Opened in 2007, Mercan Chinese Language Institute in the South Tower at Mayfair Mall is hiring Native English speakers to teach English at Mercan English School in China.  There are ten positions open until May 1, 2009 or until filled.

JOB DESCRIPTION

-30 hour work week

- Correct assignments, quizzes and tests

- Most classes are held after-school, during evenings and weekends

- Students range in age from pre-Kindergarten to adult

- Courses are typically held 2 or 4 hours, once per week

- Classes range in size from one on one to one on 25

ABOUT US

Taiyuan Mercan School was founded in 1997 as a professional English training institute and is the first private school in China with a full-time staff of native English speaking foreign teachers.  Currently Mercan School enrolls over 6,000 students. Most students study English, although Mercan School also offers courses in Spanish and French.  Aside from foreign teachers, we also have a staff of over 100 full-time Chinese employees throughout our six campuses in metropolitan Taiyuan (www.mercanschool.com).  The Beijing Mercan School will open in 2009. 

Our Milwaukee, WI branch, Mercan Chinese Language Institute, opened in 2007 and teaches Chinese as a foreign language on-site and hosts a variety of after school Chinese programs at schools throughout Southeastern Wisconsin (www.mercanchinese.org). 

Mercan School in Taiyuan is the first school to host classes at a private club (Mercan Club), creating a private, relaxed atmosphere for students.  One on one classes for adults are held at Mercan Club, and the club also has facilities specifically designed as a place for teachers to meet up, relax and chat.
