| | GENERAL DUTIES | | | -
Administers College registration operations under management direction. -
Coordinates registration services such as grade collection entries and changes, publication of semester course offerings, final examination schedules, classroom scheduling and requests for student information -
Promotes policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations; advises College personnel regarding the development and implementation of responses to regulatory changes -
Oversees the conformity of record release procedures to management policies and legal requirements, including the Family Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other applicable laws and regulations governing the confidentiality of student records -
Creates and reviews student communications from the Registrar’s Office; ensures transcript and Degree verification requests are handled in a timely manner -
Recommends and implements improvements to office operations; assists with strategic planning -
Prepares reports and analyses on registration activities -
May train faculty and staff on retention techniques, record-keeping protocol and/or registration systems -
May supervise office operations and/or department budget -
Performs related duties as assigned. It handles all registration services for students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs. Functions handled by the Office of the Registrar include the collection and entry of grades and grade changes, publication of semester course offerings and final examination schedules, classroom scheduling and fulfilling many types of reporting requests for student information. The Enrollment Registrar Specialist administers a combination of technical and management oversight and support to assigned operations within the Office of the Registrar. This position will report to the Senior Registrar. | | | MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS | | | Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required. | | | PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS | | | Four (4) years of relevant full-time experience required, preferably working in an enrollment management office or a registrar's office. A Master's degree is preferred. Demonstrated successful experience with student information systems is strongly preferred. Must have the proficiency and working experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and other software typically used in an academic environment. Effective oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills, analytical, critical thinking, planning and problem solving skills are essential. | | | COMPENSATION | | | $42,873 - $57,616 (Effective 10/20/2009) Commensurate with qualifications and experience | | | BENEFITS | | | CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification.
