Enterprise Architect

General Summary:
Enterprise Architecture is a directive & planning discipline that increases IT focus towards strategic undertaking/development. The Enterprise Architect will drive major technology decisions for Family Dollar.  These decisions will create the infrastructure roadmap and long term vision for several key technologies.
 
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate the initiation of key strategic infrastructure initiatives and recommend modifications as appropriate to existing plans.

  2. Author Architectural Reviews by utilizing a fact-based methodology (i.e. across all domains against alignment to key business objectives) to ensure a comprehensive assessment.

  3. Act as an in-house consultant/trusted advisor to IT executives and management.

  4. Conduct Feasibility Assessments (Technical, Operational and Cost) for key technology undertakings.

  5. Research and communicate a Family Dollar-centric perspective on technology trends and direction.

  6. Drive the creation of approved product/technology standards and ensure awareness throughout IT

  7. Help establish technology strategies ensuring that enterprise, interdepartmental and external drivers and influencers are addressed.

  8. Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements:
Education:  Undergraduate degree in Business, Information Technology or Computer Science.
Experience:  10+ years of IT experience; strong subject matter expertise in multiple technology areas (infrastructure experience required); experience in IT planning & strategy with the ability to successfully articulate it across an organization.
Job Related Skills: IT leadership, conflict resolution, managing vendor relationships, ability to provide innovative and insightful ideas and proven leadership in a matrixed project team.  Must possess excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills; able to work independently and as a member of a high performance team.
Technical Skills:  Windows server, Oracle databases, SQL Server databases, Exchange Server, Cisco Networks, Windows Desktops, software distribution,  operations monitoring & management. Experience with retail store technology strongly preferred.
