Position Overview - Enterprise Report Developer

The successful candidate will work closely with SkillSoft Business Applications team members, as well as members of other SkillSoft departments (such as SkillSoft Financial Services and Sales groups), to develop and maintain corporate reports in support of financial analysis and the strategic decision-making process.  This role will integrate data from multiple business application systems and our corporate data warehouse into the enterprise reporting architecture, delivering accurate, scalable, user-friendly reporting solutions.

Position Responsibilities

Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of SkillSoft business application systems and data relationships

Collaborate with business applications and business department team members to identify and prioritize enterprise reporting requirements

Design, develop, implement, and maintain timely, accurate, and actionable reporting to end-users, applying appropriate security measures

Apply best practice methodologies, participate in creation and application of corporate reporting standards, and selection, implementation and maintenance of enterprise report tools and applications

Design, develop, implement, maintain and support the enterprise analytical reporting architecture

Contribute to the optimization and performance tuning of corporate reporting applications and file servers

Required Skills and Experience

Candidate must have an ability to work well with others and reliably communicate requirements and status with other SkillSoft departments

5 years experience with Crystal Reports (10 or 11) and/or Business Objects XI reporting applications

Significant Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005 skills (T-SQL, DDL, stored procedures, views, indexes)

2 years experience developing OLAP cube reporting solutions
Proven ability to design, implement and maintain reporting solutions, identification of source system details, understanding of dimensional models/query tools, and metadata repositories

Proficient in data analysis, determining business logic and applying to report development

Ability to identify opportunities to optimize the enterprise analytical reporting architecture

Implementation and monitoring of validation processes to ensure report accuracy 

Proven ability to solve complex technical problems, assimilate information rapidly, and work under time constraints

Creation and maintenance of documentation for all enterprise reporting processes

Strong desire and aptitude to rapidly learn our core business and the data supporting it

Proficient knowledge of financial terms and concepts

Ability to work closely with business users and technical resources, as well as independently

Strong customer focus with excellent communication and organizational skills

PeopleSoft application (GL, AP, AR, Contracts, HR, CRM) architecture knowledge is highly desirable

Business Objects OLA Intelligence, Webi and/or Excelsius experience is highly desirable

Experience using Microsoft SSIS, SSAS, SSRS is a plus

BS degree, Computer Science or equivalent
