• Possess a Master Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
• Must have specifically held an architectural role at least at the application level in a organization that has an established enterprise architecture function (or equivalent organization). Other roles like technical architect and data architect are also desirable but not a substitute for application architecture experience and design and programming experience somewhere in their career.
• Some specific role as a technical team leader or lead designer with responsibilities for guiding programmers and analysis is also a requirement
• Highly preferred are candidates with specific, first hand, enterprise architecture job experience.
• Must possess fifteen or more years of experience in Information Technology with a heavy concentration in application architecture, solutions architecture’s, cross application domain integration design, and systems engineering in the most recent five years.
• Must have methodological experience demonstrating software engineering experience using methods and tools (e.g. information, services and object modeling, agile or iterative development)
• Have previous development and implementation experience in relatively modern technologies including (J2ee, web services, SOA )
• Expertise in the design and development of complex, large-scale applications in order to assess technical risk and develop mitigation strategies
• Experience in the design and implementation of system architectures using advanced technologies that support scalable, high-volume transaction processing environments
• Ability to manage multiple, concurrent, multi-million dollar IT initiatives.
• Management consulting skills that enable influencing of IT priorities without direct management responsibility
• Verbal and written communications and presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Working knowledge and experience using software engineering methods and tools (e.g. information, services and object modeling, agile or iterative development)
• Recent experience with solutions development technology such as J2EE web services, SOA, SDKs, Microsoft software stack and Open source frameworks, development tools and software stacks is required.
• A wide range of technology platform (hardware and software) experience is a plus but not required beyond Microsoft.

Description:
• Support the Alico CTO & Chief Enterprise Architect in the creation, communication, implementation and evolution of the Alico Enterprise Architecture (EA) creation and project EA governance processes.
• Specifically lead the Solution Architecture domain in incrementally developing future state Target Solution (services and applications) Architectures and Transition Architectures. Maintain, expand coverage and evolve Target Solution Architectures based on business and investment strategies documented in domain Road Maps bi-annually.
• Work with technology executives, development groups, lead technologists and Regional CIOs to align their technology direction and choices with the EA framework. Review and update application domain road maps twice per year.
• Collaborate with strategic initiative teams selectively, on a prioritized basis, to analyze the current solution and application architectures to identify weaknesses and opportunities for improvement; develop target architectures based on standards to foster flexible, integrated applications and services; and ensure cost effective transition to new technologies according to published and approved domain road maps.
• The ESA has the unique responsibility to look across application domains, regions and countries to recognize and facilitate capturing opportunities to re-use solutions and solution components from one domain or region in another domain where it fosters speed to market for new solutions; overall Alico or project specific cost savings and / or creates strategic synergy in meeting Alico strategic or tactical objectives.
• Assist home office and regional CIO’s in building and developing their technology management teams and capabilities.
• Develop and nurture consensus and working relationships with technical teams from other IT divisions to ensure coordination and integration in IT projects and programs. Specifically build collaborative relationships with home office divisional and regional Solution Architects and designers that foster synergy, re-use of artifacts and intellectual property and result in projects moving Alico from current-state to target enterprise architectures incrementally and in conformance with approved domain road maps.
• Lead or participate in technical strategic initiatives and Alico wide domain working groups in support of Alico technology governance processes and the formulation of the Alico Enterprise Architecture. Represent the Alico CTO and Chief Enterprise Architect as needed.
• Collaborate with other technical teams in the exchange and transfer of technical knowledge and in the development and evolution of architecture standards, guidelines, reference architecture, and IT Technology Roadmaps.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
