Position Summary: 



A Louisiana-based company, with an international presence,
has an immediate need for a Cost Accountant. This reputable company designs,
manufactures, and sells analytical products and accessories for the oil and gas
industry. The ideal candidate should learn quickly, adapt to new situations,
work independently and possess excellent troubleshooting skills.  This individual will be accountable for
overseeing inventory levels, monitoring and evaluating cost of materials and
finished goods, purchasing raw materials, producing needed reports and
maintaining vendor relationships.  In
addition, this individual will provide information in various forms to the
management team to enable efficient and effective business decision making.



 



Requirements:



 




  • Must have completed 4-year
    undergraduate degree program with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • Must have considerable knowledge
    of cost accounting, accounting information systems & inventory
    management

  • Must have above average verbal and
    written communication skills

  • Must be able to perform arithmetic
    calculations accurately

  • Must have above average time
    management, organizational and troubleshooting skills

  • Must be able to compile and
    analyze data for trends

  • Must have working knowledge of
    software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word &
    Microsoft Excel



 



Duties & Responsibilities:



·        
Determine
what goods to purchase based on usage and demand to ensure ample products are
stocked and available for immediate sale.



·        
Coordinate with
machine shops and other vendors to monitor delivery dates of raw materials to
ensure uninterrupted inventory replenishment.



·        
Monitor
costs of purchased parts from vendors to ensure accuracy and evaluate
increasing/decreasing costs.



·        
Support
company personnel in troubleshooting and solving inventory issues that may
arise that would affect the correctness of data used to make purchasing
decisions.



·        
Analyze
system data to ensure correct parameters are set, inventory counts, batch
numbers and serial numbers are correct by physically verifying data.



·        
Checks
and corrects inventory discrepancies.



·        
Generate
inventory reports to monitor inventory cost variances, monitor reorder points
for accuracy and evaluate vendor quality and timeliness.



·        
Generate
various reports to verify customer monthly sales and aid in month end closing.
