The team in which tech support is needed is ultimately responsible for all company IT standard server and virtual machine deployments in data centers worldwide. This team has taken a broad responsibility for creation and deployment of Hyper-V virtual machines and managing a private cloud computing platform consisting of thousands of servers worldwide and locally. This process will soon be automated but there will still be multiple manual steps required to configure each of several hundred virtual machines. They are in need of a team for a short time to perform these manual steps and to help troubleshoot deployments. There is the possibility of a longer term needed for this expertise within the IT labs.

This Tech Support Engineer will be performing final Windows server configuration steps. This includes adding servers to an OU, adding security groups to local administrators and running patch validation/applying patches as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Acts as primary response for technical support.
  
• Provides entry level support primarily for end users, along with Developers and corporate customers via telephone, written correspondence, and electronic media (excluding public, "1:many," electronic services).
  
• Provides support for more complex products under general supervision.
  
• Communicates with customers who possess a wide range of skill levels.
  
• At a peer level, communicates problems to development and other internal organizations.

Requirements:

Entry Level Technical Support Qualifications:

• Basic expertise with deploying Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work within an aggressive timeline.
  
• 1-2 years experience in IT at the most. This is a very entry level position.

Bonus Skills:

• Windows and Hyper-V experience.
  
• Experience with data centers or labs.
  
• Administrative scripting capabilities.
