
Qualifications: |
• BA/BS degree Biology, Wildlife Management, Botany, or other related field. 6 months experience in biological monitoring on construction projects • CEQA, NEPA, and Endangered Species Act (ESA) awareness gained through work experience • Strong organizational and communication skills. • Familiarity with survey and monitoring techniques for Desert Tortoise, fringe-toed or horned lizards, and other sensitive resources in the Coachella Valley of Southern California is a plus. • Good physical condition and able to work in physically challenging work settings to conduct surveys and monitoring. • Familiarity with the use of handheld GPS tools. |

Responsibilities: |
• Responsible to oversee construction activities to ensure that biological and environmental protection measures are properly implemented during construction. • Conduct pre-construction surveys and/or nesting bird surveys, preconstruction sweeps for Desert Tortoise and other special-status wildlife species that may be located within or immediately adjacent to the construction areas, and prepare daily field monitoring reports to document project progress. • Monitor and ensure comprehensive biological compliance throughout all phases of transmission line construction. • Ensure required measures are taken for the protection of sensitive resources in accordance with regulations and permits. • Complete daily and weekly compliance reports |
