Environmental Consulting Key Client / Business Development Manager

About the Job

ERM is seeking an energetic, self-starting Environmental Key Client / Business Development Manager to grow ERM's regional business, support and become a "key player" on the ERM's Sales Team in profitably building ERM's overall business in Florida based either in Tampa or Miami.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Become a core team member of ERM's Southern Division sales team by building a strong relationship with the marketing team and the business team.

  • First year target; personally sell at least $1,000,000 (in terms of Net Revenues) worth of new business in the State of Florida or neighboring states. New business is defined as a new budget holders at existing accounts (worked at in last two years) or new clients (no work in last two years).

  • Second year target; personally sell at least $2,000,000 (in terms of Net Revenues) worth of new business.

  • Develop work with two new clients for the company that have high repeat business potential.

  • Find and win at least one large (>$500,000) project.

  • Establish a personal face-to-face meeting routine of five meetings per week with key regional clients, year in and year out.

  • Coach and mentor the sales skills of ERM Partners and staff (face-to-face, account strategy, organizational savvy, team building, meeting client expectations and service excellence needs). 

  • Ensure profitable performance by establishing sales opportunities that are aligned with ERM's business objectives.

  • Continually demonstrate a significant growth in sales skills with a high degree of technical competency in selling to ERM clients.

  • Motivate peers and junior staff to reach ERM's goals.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

  • BS Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or related degree required, Masters Degree preferred

  • 15+ years of environmental consulting experience…private sector experience a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects over $500,000 and books of business over $1,000,000

  • Excellent writing and computer skills;

  • Good presentation skills;

  • Advance environmental regulatory knowledge with proven negotiation skills with regulators

  • Recognized technical expertise by the marketplace

  • Experience working in Florida and surrounding states.
