Environmental Geographer

The primary focus of Akimeka Technologies is providing a wide range of Information Technology, Program Management, and Telecommunications products, services, and solutions to Department of Defense clients in Hawaii and abroad.
Akimeka Technologies LLC, has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Geographer. The position will be located at CHPPM, Aberdeen, Maryland.
Responsibilities:
· Manage the troop tracking database for the USACHPPM to support comprehensive health surveillance. · Administer the Gulf Oil Well Fires troop exposure assessment model and oversee communications of related risk to Veterans requesting individual assessments. · Manage the standardization and daily management of deployed locations so environmental and occupational exposures can be appropriately linked to deployed military personnel. · Assist occupational medicine physicians in obtain personnel rosters in support of epidemiological studies. Requirements: · Environmental Geographer shall have 15 years experience in development and application of IT solutions to tracking, monitoring and analyzing health issues among deployed soldiers. · Education: BA/BS in the following fields: Geography and/or Computer Science. · Experience needed in developing and managing database systems in Oracle 9i, MS SQL Server, Informix, Access and the Deployed Theater Accountability Software (DTAS). · Experience needed in Gulf War health issue surveillance.
