EHS Associate/Hazard Communication Specialist

  

Moses Lake Industries, Inc. Responsibilities Include:

 

·         Perform literature and web searches to determine hazards of chemicals and new company chemical products.  Using this information, train employees on the hazards of chemicals and the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for employees to wear.  Ensure that appropriate engineering controls are in-place and that chemicals are properly stored, managed and labeled.

·         Keep abreast of US and international laws concerning hazard communication.  Classify new products using US, Globally Harmonized System (GHS) and other international criteria and prepare compliant Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

·         Maintain the MSDS library both on SharePoint and in paper form.

·         Prepare EHS training modules and provide timely training to employees.

·         Assist in writing and reviewing technical procedures to ensure that company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) objectives and policies are implemented.

·         Conduct reviews and audits to determine conformance with EHS policies and procedures.

 

Summary Qualifications:

·         BS in Chemistry, ChemEng, or Occupation Health.

·         2+ years of industrial experience desired.

·         Experience in EHS field, Industrial hygiene, MSDS authoring, toxicology and air monitoring desired.

·         Working knowledge of NFPA codes, DOT, RCRA, OSHA/WISHA & TSCA regulations as well as ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 desired.

·         Must have good communication and technical writing skills.

·         Must have the ability to prioritize work load and meet deadlines often with short notice.  Must be able to collaborate with multiple people in multiple disciplines.

·         European or Asian language skills are a plus.
