Sequence is seeking a highly experienced Environmental Health & Safety Manager to lead environmental health and safety programs for one of the nation’s leading construction, demolition and reconstruction firms. This is currently one of the niche industry’s highest profile positions. Based in Nashville, the EH&S Manager will be charged with providing client services; specifically ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations related to hazardous substances and wastes (i.e. asbestos, lead-based paint, solid waste, universal waste, hazardous waste, PCBs, wastewater, air emissions, and oil and hazardous materials). The Manager will develop and maintain safe and healthful working conditions and promote protection against accidents, illnesses and injuries, plus work with top management to oversee the company’s commitment to supporting effective implementation of compliance programs in order to improve environmental operations processes to minimize risks. Key to this post is having a dynamic and capable program manager that can develop overarching programs for the organization and instill an EH&S culture / philosophy throughout the executive and line personnel. The ideal individual would have 8 – 12+ years experience in environmental, health and safety along with demonstrated technical expertise in the application of environmental and safety regulations, and construction management. Ideally this would be in a related industry or consulting field with experience in compliance management and quality/process improvement. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Timberline and other related computer software is a plus for consideration. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, Geology, or related field; advanced degree with licensure and certifications preferred (Certified Safety Auditor/Administrator, Certified Safety Manager, Environmental Health & Safety Management Specialist, Licensed Safety Professional, Advanced Safety Professional).
