MUST HAVE A FOUR YEAR TECHNICAL DEGREE MUST HAVE MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY EXPERIENCEThe EHS Manager will provide site leadership to assure compliance with all applicable EHS standards, improve and implement safety direction and performance. This role will have responsibility for safety/environmental administration, injury case management, ergonomic injury prevention, technical safety advice, emergency response, behavioral safety process and site-wide safety training.
Will be responsible for reviewing and updating existing facility EHS policies and procedures assuring their alignment with corporate and governmental regulations/policies. Will be responsible for coordinating/advising with other site EHS leaders as well as interfacing with outside regulatory agencies. Limited travel will be involved as well as presentations to internal and external clients.
Participate on Plant Leadership Team.
Manage/coach/mentor the Behavioral Based Safety program at SPD.Champion and develop in collaboration with the operations leadership team, a "World Class" injury free safety culture.
Lead, initiate and manage a philosophy of continuous improvement in environmental, health and safety areas.
Facilitate/lead EHS Council Team.
Analyze/trend observation data and spend a significant amount of time on the production floor to identify needed safety improvement projects. Use data to solicit feedback on best solution, assign involvement, gain approval and facilitate project through to completion.
Develop and administer EHS budget, manage EHS vendors, safety inventories and eye glass, safety shoe programs.
Participate in Enterprise Lean Sigma as 'voice of safety.'
Lead efforts in developing sustainable processes and procedures to maintain systems necessary to meet VPP requirements and facility objectives.
Drives constant improvement in human, equipment, chemical and facility safety and housekeeping at the site.
Establishes training, along with other programs and initiatives to improve safety awareness and conformance to safe practices on and off the job. Participate in and lead accident/injury investigations.
Partner with Health Nurse to actively manage/determine work related injuries.
Ensure facility compliance with all State, Local and Federal Regulations relating to EHS such as OSHA, DOT, EPA; Maintains positive relationships with Regulatory Agencies.
Remain current in changing EHS regulations to actively advise the organization as to potential business impact.
Works effectively with the corporate EH&S community.
Coordinate short and long term EHS strategic planning and development.
Track and maintain all site safety statistics for Corporate EH&S compliance; maintain EHS records system, ensuring all required reports are current and accurate.
Responsible for hazardous waster program management and administration. SPD is classified as a large quantity generator.Management of permit requirements; conditional major air permit and waster water permit. Must have Title V experience and be a "cheerleader" that can engage everyone and drive for results.
3-5 years of manufacturing/environmental, health, & safety experience.
Bachelors degree (technical degree) with additional formal training in safety.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
Track record of driving safety programs that achieved and demonstrated a record of safety achievement in past assignments.Strong influential leader with good instincts.
Innovative and "out of the box" problem solving skills; adaptable and self-directed.
Sensitive to the requirement that all site businesses must be conducted effectively, with maximum attention to safety and housekeeping.
Demonstrated facilitation, problem-solving, project management.
Proficient in oral and written communication skills.
