Environmental, Health/Safety Manager

EH&S Experience - QUALITY AND PAPER PACKAGING EXPERIENCE A PLUS

GMI Group of Companies is seeking candidates for a full-time Environmental Health & Safety Manager.  The right candidate will be able to plan, establish, implement, and maintain a variety of occupational health, safety, environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees.  Assures that all facilities within the GMI Group complies with applicable federal and state health, safety and environmental laws, regulations, and standards.

1. Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.  Survey to identify and evaluate occupational health, safety and environmental conditions.  Conduct on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.  Provide advice and counsel concerning all city, state, and federal compliance regulations

2.  Develop controls for identified hazards

3.  Direct and assist in the development of specialized education and training materials

4.  Compile, analyze, interpret and report accident, loss, and exposure statistical data; prepare recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards

5.  Establish programs such as bloodborne pathogens, hazard communication, indoor air quality, lockout/tagout, and other general industry occupational safety and health programs

This position will involve the establishment of a quality laboratory and work with customers on any quality concerns.  The right candidate will interpret quality philosophy to personnel, investigate and develop new approaches to solve quality concerns.
