Mylan Inc., located in Morgantown, WV currently has an opening for an Environmental, Health and Safety Technician

 

This exciting position in our Environmental, Health and Safety department is responsible for promoting and ensuring a safe, healthy and environmentally sound work environment.  Assist Manager of Corporate Environmental Health & Safety Compliance with establishing, implementing and maintaining Mylan and its subsidiaries’ policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, State, and Federal environmental regulations. 

 

In this role, the Environmental, Health and Safety Technician will:

 

  • Collect daily hazardous wastes generated by the various laboratories, manufacturing facilities, construction sites and other Mylan operations to ensure environmental compliance with all Local, State and Federal Regulations.

 

  • Conduct training for employees that handle hazardous waste to ensure proper handling of hazardous materials. 

 

  • Manage various training programs to include, new hire environmental, health and safety orientation, respiratory protection, powered industrial trucks and scissor lift.  Conduct re-training for employees on OSHA rules, regulations and respirator use.

 

  • Provide assistance with chemical spills. 

 

  • Assist in the collection, shipment and destruction of pharmaceutical waste.

 

  • Prepare manifest shipments of hazardous waste and infectious waste for destruction.

 

  • Perform monthly environmental analyses and observations to ensure compliance with various environmental permit requirements.  Prepare report of findings and forward to Corporate Environmental Engineer for review.

 

  • Conduct inspection of various safety systems to include, sprinkler system(s), spill kits, and eye wash systems.

 

  • Execute weekly “walk-through” inspection of construction zone to ensure there are no safety violations.

 

The successful candidate in this role will have a minimum of two years of experience. However, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Knowledge of Federal, State, local laws, statutes, and regulations including OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations is required.
