Amerisci Bio-Chem is a leading indoor air quality laboratory, highly regarded throughout the environmental testing industry. We provide complete asbestos, environmental, and microbial testing that utilizes leading edge DNA sequencing for organism classification and identification. We continue to serve clients nationally and internationally.

Job Description: Perform microbiological analyzes including identification of fungi based on morphological analysis of culture, spore traps, and direct tape exams; identification of environmental bacteria based on biochemical and morphological analysis; and identification of microorganisms based on molecular amplification techniques. Responsible for on-time completion of tasks according to priorities set by clients.

Analysis largely involves the detection of fungi / mold in air, dust, and bulk samples, using manual or semi-automated methods. Applicant must be or become an expert in the use and operation of a standard light microscope and should be willing to spend a considerable amount of time operating a scope.

Requirements: Education: BS in biology, chemistry or a related field. Experience in the field of environmental microbiology and/or experience in the examination of samples to detect microbiological contamination of indoor environments is a plus.
