The Chartis Atlanta Regional office is seeking an Environmental Underwriter for the National Accounts Division. The position requires underwriters to perform analytical, communicative, creative and business minded tasks. In addition to underwriting complex risks, the candidate will also be responsible for marketing Chartis’ products to an assigned territory in the Southeast Region, reviewing technical environmental reports and negotiating insurance policy terms and conditions. The position will have an active role in all aspects of the segment's business including sales and marketing, high-level client relations, obtaining new submissions, maintaining renewal accounts, evaluating risk, developing winning proposals and binding business. Qualified candidates should have:
Three to five years environmental consulting experience or environmental insurance experience, including project oversight and field experience.
BA/BS in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, Risk Management or related field. Master’s degree a plus.
Strong ability to analyze complex technical risks.
Strong communication, negotiation, sales/marketing and relationship management skills.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks concurrently in a dynamic and challenging environment.
