A highly successful family of companies in the commercial construction and contracting industry is seeking to hire an experienced Estimator for one of its divisions. The company is a subcontractor specializing in drywall and acoustical ceilings with over 50 years of experience.

Our company is interested in finding an estimating professional with 7-10 years of drywall experience. We seek to find an outstanding, self motivated individual who shares our values and commitment to our customers and stakeholders. This person will be well connected within the Southern California drywall and construction industry, have significant hands on experience and have the ability to move a project from the “request for bid” stage all the way through the setup stage and hand off to the project manager.

They should have experience in working with clients and project managers, understand production rates, be able to manage workflow and any experience with hospitals, OSHPD or pharmaceuticals is a plus.

We require the following qualifications:

-          5-10 years of strong estimating experience in a commercial drywall/acoustical ceiling environment

-          A proven track record in estimating and securing jobs from $100,000 to $5 million.

-          Work with clients (or potential clients), attending job walks, organizing meetings, presentations and estimates

-          Establish and manage production rates and work with the general superintendent to facilitate the best efficiency possible.

-          Negotiate pricing on materials with vendors

-          Manage all bid documents and ensure that bids are complete and properly presented

-          Proficiency with scheduling software and creating job schedules as needed.

-          Work with clients, architects and project managers on Design-Build projects, including the development of the budget and material vendor selection.

-          Have significant experience and relationships with general contractors in the Southern California market.

-          Manage any subcontract agreements, as necessary

-          Be accurate in the projection of costs for jobs bid.

Our company offers a very generous compensation package, a tremendous opportunity for growth and great fringe benefits such as paid medical, dental, LTD, life, matching 401k and profit sharing plans. Compensation levels will be based on experience.

The position will require a background check as well as drug screening as required by our clients. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
