About the Job

GENERAL



 


Prepares and/or coordinates full estimates on (public and private) medium to large complex work.  Provides complete conceptual and final estimating, or complete total bid pricing.  Reviews estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness.  


 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


 


·        Set up the Estimate and report progress and resources to the Chief  Estimator/Preconstruction Manager


·        Create a file for each estimate and file estimate documentation


·        Compile a list of relevant and capable trades for budgeting or tendering


·        Prepare  trade tender documentation


·        Oversee the issuance of tender packages to the trades


·        Contact trades regarding invitations, addendums, tender closings and follow up


·        Oversee and participate in the production of quantity take-offs for all areas of the estimate


·        Ensure the take-off is well notated for hand-over to the project team


·        Attend tender review or preconstruction design meetings as required


·        Monitor drawing revisions and inform client of any cost implications


·        Ensure estimates include safety and security requirements   


 


 


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


 


·        Minimum 5 years construction estimating experience
