Job Purpose:
Projects and controls construction costs by collecting and studying information; controlling construction costs. Be willing to step away from the status quo for some thoughtful solutions to a problem.

Duties:
* Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities.

* Prepares construction budget by studying home plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each elevation.

* Negotiates contracts with distributors and trade partners.  Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.  Purchaisng professional focused on reducing total cost.

* Obtains bids from vendors and trade partners by specifying materials; identifying qualified trade partners; negotiating price to identify and drive waste out of the process.  Facilitates bid comparisons and show cost analysis.

* Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information.

* Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

* Works with systems to prioritize and implement projects

* Maintains quality service by following organization standards.  Wear a number of hats in this position, skill and experience in estimating is top priority
 
* Manage projects in house, set up construction schedules and work with construction manager to oversee the completion of all our construction jobs.

* Significant interaction with clients, sales, construction manager.

* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:
3-5 yrs experience in light commercial and residential estimating, Computer savvy, Fast learner with the ability to hit the ground running, Project management and scheduling experience a major plus, Positive attitude and strong team orientation, highly motivated individual driven to achieve cost reductive measures, Dedicated professional committed to highest level of ethical behavior and compliance,  Excellent estimating and negotiating skills, Ability to read and interpret blueprints, Mimimum light CAD experience, Sage or Timberline software a plus, Developing Budgets, Vendor Relationships, Reporting Skills, Estimating, Decision Making, Teamwork, Documentation Skills, Quality Focus
