Requirements
Network Engineer position within the Product Engineering Team at AT&T Alascom in Anchorage, Alaska. This position will support Ethernet and enhanced Microwave Solutions. Responsible for engineering and enhancing existing Ethernet microwave network. Should be familiar with routing protocols, firewall services, and Juniper equipment. Should have an understanding of designing, building, and implementing carrier class networks as it relates to Ethernet and Microwave services. This individual should have a full working knowledge of network technology and WAN transmission types in general. The following experience is required in this job opportunity: Should have experience with engineering and designing Ethernet networks. Needs to have commercial experience with Firewall Services, Network Management systems, and infrastructure design. Should have an understanding of Ethernet design as it relates to a microwave transport network. Requires a working knowledge of recommending, installing, configuring, and trouble shooting business customers WAN or VPLS services. Desire Cisco or like certification in IP services. Should have engineering experience working within a telecommunications carriers network. Needs to understand how to recommend and test new technology from commercial vendors.
