Currently we are looking for qualified applicants to work as an Event Supervisor for Vikings games along with other special events in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Area. Event Security Officer Job Description
A Whelan Security employee must represent Whelan’s 10 Core Values of Truth-Telling, Promise-Keeping, Respect, Loyalty, Empowerment, Discipline, Leadership, Flexibility, Quality Assurance, and Results while performing the following duties;
  • Report on-time in appropriate uniform for your scheduled shift.
  • Assist with dusting stadium seats and moving bike racks into position prior to events.
  • Attend Pre-Event meeting for job assignment and event specifics.
  • Ability and willingness to work any assignment. These assignments may include pat-downs, vehicle screening, escorts, and field security.
  • Be in assigned area by designated time and stay on post for the entire event.
  • Understand and perform duties of assignment.
  • Monitor physical surroundings in assigned area prior to and throughout event for safety, cleanliness and functionality.
  • Respond quickly and courteously to patrons’ needs, questions, comments, or concerns with answers and/or action.
  • At event’s end, walk through assigned areas and clear the stadium.
  • In case of emergency, actively assist in safeguarding patrons.


Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Must successfully pass an extensive background screening which will include criminal background checks, and drug testing.
  • Offer at least one verifiable past or current employer.
  • Understand and adhere to established Whelan policies and procedures.
  • Have a neat and professional appearance.
  • Actively assist with established emergency procedures at venues that you are assigned.
  • Assist patrons with disability-related issues.
  • Ability to provide accurate knowledge to patrons regarding venue logistics (i.e. location of ticket office, restrooms, phones, concessions, press areas, etc.), information about the event, general building history, etc.
  • Ability to read event ticket (visual acuity corrected to read as small as 11-font print).
  • Ability to repeatedly climb stairs – up and down – and comfortable working on multiple levels -- to ensure effective event procedure in all areas of the stadium.
  • Ability to bend and reach around patrons during the pat-down process.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, sometimes throughout an entire event.
  • Work all assigned shifts and arrive at posted report time.
  • Adhere to uniform requirements.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings
  • Work at least 9 of the 10 Minnesota Vikings games per season. .
